Mission
The Salvation Army is a global nonprofit organization founded in 1866 by Catherine and William Booth. Every day the salvation Army of Greater Hickory and High Country strives to meet human needs in His name without discrimination through Alexander, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, McDowell, Watauga, and Wilkes County. We offer unique, local programs, designed to meet the specific needs of our community. Local programs includes Homeless Services, Hunger Relief, Rent and Utility Assistance, the Boys and Girls Club, Worship Services, Christmas Assistance, Family Thrift Stores, and Emergency Disaster Services.

Financial Contribution
Our various outreach programs
↪ $75-send a child to our summer camp for 1 week. $48-to provide food for a family with 1-3 members. $26-to cover 1 night stay at the Shelter of Hope.
