Red Shield Youth Center
Effective January 10th, 2025, the national agreement between the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Salvation Army has ceased. The primary impact of this decision is related to branding and curriculum accreditation and will not impact the day-to-day delivery of important services to our youth. The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center remains steadfast in its mission to provide high-quality youth programming and services to the community, pursuing growth in ways that best suit our unique faith-based mission.
Our mission is to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. To empower and enrich our communities by supporting young people and their families through spiritual, educational, character-building, recreational, and relational programs. We aim to inspire youth to become active, productive members of their churches, families and communities.
The Red Shield Youth Center’s vision is to facilitate a program that develops youth who:
- Are filled with the love of Christ and share that love with others
- Have developed a good, strong character and take actions that make a difference in the community
- Graduate on time, are motivated to learn, and have a plan to succeed in today’s modern workforce
- Make healthy lifestyle decisions resulting in spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being
We Value:
Accountability: Encouraging youth to take responsibility for their actions and decisions, promoting a sense of ownership and commitment to their personal growth and contributions to family, community, and society.
Collaboration: Teaching youth the importance of working together to achieve common goals and encouraging them to build strong, supportive relationships with peers, mentors, and community members.
Excellence: Inspiring youth to pursue the highest standards in all they do, whether in education, spiritual development, character development, or community involvement. We encourage them to continually strive for personal and collective growth, setting and achieving ambitious goals.
Spiritual Growth: Encouraging youth to develop a solid spiritual foundation, guiding moral and ethical decisions-making.
Resilience: Empowering youth to develop the strength and adaptability needed to overcome challenges, learn from setbacks, and persevere in adversity, encouraging a growth mindset that helps them navigate life’s difficulties and emerge stronger.
