Mission

Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center’s mission is to empower striving readers through tutoring, educate their parents about the challenges of striving readers, and equip their teachers through Orton-Gillingham training.

Get involved! You can contribute to Patrick Beaver Learning Resource Center in some of the following ways:

Financial Contribution

  • Tutoring and Literacy Programs
    $40-for background check of a new tutor. $75-office supplies to train a teacher in the Orton-Gillingham approach. $350-to buy a Wilson Reading System kit for a new tutor. $500-cover training costs for one new Augustine Literacy Project tutor. $1000-cover training costs for one classroom teacher in the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Tangible Items

  • New children's books for our tutors to give to children or read with them
  • pencil boxes, colored pencils, copy paper, cardstock, wide rule notebook paper, primary writing tablets, post-it notes, mechanical pencils, dry erase markers, notecards, sentence strips, 1" book rings, 1" notebooks, two pocket folders, colored file folders, notebook dividers, notebook pocket dividers

Volunteer

  • Attend an Augustine Literacy Project Informational coffee to learn how to become a Tutor.
  • Train as an Augustine Literacy Project Tutor (week long training) and continue to tutor a child throughtout the year
  • Volunteer to vacuum our office, wipe down training tables
