Mission Statement

The mission of the Catawba County Partnership for Children is to ensure that all children have the resources and services they need to enter kindergarten healthy and prepared for lifelong success. We provide a variety of well-coordinated and research-based early childhood services for children birth to age five and their families.

Our work is rooted in significant brain development research that confirms the importance of the first five years, when the actual architecture of the brain is constructed, determining the foundation for all future learning, behavior, and health outcomes.

Through a combination of grants and donations, we provide the following early childhood programs in Catawba County: Children’s Resource Center (our county’s child care resource & referral initiative), NC Pre-Kindergarten (free pre-k for eligible 4-year-old children), Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program (free books for children), Early Childhood Support Team (technical assistance for child care programs), Parents as Teachers and Triple P (parent education programs), Our Nest Diaper Pantry (free diapers for families in need), KidsREADy Catawba (early childhood systems building initiative), and Little Free Libraries (located across the county). For more information go to www.catawbakids.com or call 828-695-6505.
